There’s absolutely no way one will ever get enough of photographs from the divine, snow-covered Schwarzwald region. Recently, a media crew including a drone pilot accompanied the Feldberg locals last week, capturing them shredding their homebase to bits. Be prepared for the amazing galleries packed with the best twintips and snowboard shots of the day and two sick edits, which are best summed up by the following three words: super slow motion!

If you’re already eagerly awaiting spring, Feldberg’s definitely not your place to be – winterly landscapes and snow-covered roofs as far as one can see set the perfect mood for non-stop shred action. The park’s 25 diverse features are currently the focus of countless sessions. After the QParks Tour Contest, SnowTunes and the Girls Shred Session, the freeskiers Felix Nütten and Ferdinand Briegel teamed up for a session with the snowboarders Luis Eckert, Raphael Bärmann, Matthias Klinger and Lukas Kortmann. The riders were having a blast at their park and the media crew was able to capture tons of incredible footage.

“The park’s in great shape, the setup’s really clean”, freeskier Felix Nütten says. “Actually I’m more of a jibber, but the kickers here are just fantastic so I spend much time riding them as well.” Freeskier and fellow BOTI crew member Ferdinand Briegel is also excited about the park, “Currently, the kickers really are amazing and the park is skillfully shaped in general. Even though the takeoffs are probably better suited for snowboarders - freeskiers prefer them a bit wider.” There was no friction between the two camps, though, “Obviously we don’t just ride together when a photo shoot takes place. We’ve all known each other for some time now and we’re getting along very well.”

However, there was a visible separation of the two groups during the shoot. “The freeskiers seemed to be exhausted quite early on”, snowboarder Luis Eckert chuckles. “But, to be fair, they’d already been riding all morning and I only arrived in the afternoon.” Hence, after the snowboarders and the freeskiers were laying down some laps at the park simultaneously for some time, the snowboarders became the center of attention in the afternoon.

“Luckily the weather was on our side and we were able to take plenty of runs through the park”, Luis says. “What I like about the park is that you can ride everything in one line. I particularly enjoyed the two kickers in a row that end in a corner. They’re great for practicing your tricks and for trying out new stuff.” The Feldberg local impressively demonstrated the old saying “practice makes perfect” in late February, when he managed to get the first place at the Bohny Masters powered by MINI followed by the tour leader, the Belgian Lorenzo Peeters.
